Owl to Millicent

April 20th, 2006 (11:29 pm)

Millicent,

I'm avoiding you, of course. I couldn't bear to think of your presence this Easter.

Actually, I've just been kidnapped by my sole remaining Sixth Year in Slytherin and she's forcing me to play exploding snap although to my satisfaction she's managed to singe more than her eyebrows. I think I saw your brother earlier towards the Astromony Tower with questionable companions.

As to the issue of who brought on this new dizziness... you know I'm always at your disposable when fixing problems.

Millicent,

I see that you still have the knack of not wasting a single opportunity. I must say they were a tad odd. The Unspeakables were rather... average. I had rather hoped they'd have some oddities about them. As for your aura, I'm surprised you have one at all.

letter to Professor Slughorn

March 24th, 2006 (09:30 pm)

Professor Slughorn,

I was wondering if it wouldn’t be so much as to ask you whether me and two of my companions would be allowed to take a walk in the grounds for an hour or two over the weekend? Whilst we are in a rather tension situation with the goings-on in the outside world perhaps being allowed to release a little tension with a walk would be suitable. In this matter I respectfully beg your acceding to our request. I feel it’s incumbent on me to also try and show an example that we Slytherins are of course trustful and not all of us are as nefarious and images seem to portray. I sure by showing us to be responsible to simple do something such as being given a modicum of trust to take a turn about the grounds would at least show that some of us can be sensible.

Most respectfully
emma

note to Tracey

March 24th, 2006 (09:29 pm)

Tracey,

Not at all don’t worry about it. I think we all get caught up in the general goings-ons sometimes.

I’ll send the request for the walk shortly after I write this. It does seem appropriate to try and get around Slughorn with a bit of charm and flattery and such. We’d be much better off appealing to his good side to see if it makes him rather more willing.

I think the outside world is undoubtedly taking a rather stressed toll on us all. At least your mother is able to present a rather cheerful face over the difficult period we seem to be entering. I do hope that things settle down and become a lot more relaxed. If you ever need to talk, well you know where to find me.

note to Tracey

March 15th, 2006 (09:49 pm)

Tracey,

I shall perhaps send a request then. Do you think it’ll be more likely to be approved by McGonagall, the Safety Inspector or Slughorn? I think Slughorn might if he was in a favourable mood. Perhaps it might be better coming from Mandy. As for Draco, I’ve noticed this term that certain fractions of our house have been rather… well, have been behaving quite unusual and unbecoming as representation of Slytherin.

My family are perfectly fine just simply at opposite ends of opinion at the moment. My parents believe my brother is being rash and committing himself to something he can’t go back on. Rather stressful as for a time he was their favourite. How are your own? If it’s not impertinent of me to inquire?

scrawled note to Millicent

March 14th, 2006 (12:42 am)

Millicent,

My parents are being as droll and worrisome as ever. I’m forbidden to speak to my brother although they should know being what I am that the likeliness of me holding to that request is varied and they shouldn’t hold their breath. I think there is more than a little stress within both our families. Your mother has probably spoken to mine and have gotten themselves worked up over trivialities.

I must agree that Madame Pince was rather useful when one was feeling lazy. I’ll have a look for such a spell if I have a spare moment this evening. I rather think I’ll be in the library all evening really if someone wished to disturb me.

note to Millicent

March 13th, 2006 (02:33 am)

Millicent,

I’m sure there is some glamour or charm that allows you to appear to be awake whilst slumbering. Maybe it’ll be worth investing a trip to the library in search of such a thing if it seems likely that further talks of this nature will occur.

The choice of head of house, although obvious, seems rather bland. I’d have much preferred to be left mostly alone like our previous head of house proceeded to do. Alas all things worth having must come to an end. If compensation of Quidditch tickets is our cross to bear after a period of lapse then we must bear it.

note to Tracey

March 13th, 2006 (02:32 am)

Tracey,

The hexings, I have to say, have little importance to me at the moment. No doubt it’s some eager member of one of the lower years attempting to impress an older student or two. My own concerns lie with family, something I’m sure you are acquainted with at the moment.

As for tea. I’m sorry I missed it. Perhaps another day this week. I have indeed missed talking to you although I always presume you are much too busy to associate yourself with me. I’m sure you have a lot going on to bother with a sixth year although I do delight in corresponding.

Maybe we could petition to be allowed out for a walk the three of us? You, me and Mandy. It seems a reasonable request and it would do go to escape the castle and get a modicum of privacy.

spelled note to Mandy

March 13th, 2006 (02:31 am)

Mandy,

The fever fudge was a stroke of brilliance, getting out of class was a bit of welcome relief I have to say. I imagine you are aware that Slytherin are now under a new head of house? Although I doubt he’ll make much of a difference to many of the students or its current state at present. There is rather a touch too much turmoil and disinterest or perhaps that’s simply me.

I heard from both my parents and my brother over the last two days. The former informing me that I am under no means to correspond with my brother and the latter telling me to ignore whatever my parents have told me and to remember where loyalties should lie when split. I’m of the mind to throw both letters away but I have penned neutral replies to bother. He is my brother after all and I do somewhat dote on him as he has been guidance to me in younger years. But I bore you I’m sure. How do your parents fare? From the news I hear your father is in good spirits at the moment and seems to be prospering.

I see that you and Tracey are talking more. You are cautious of course in what you say? She is… Slytherin after all. I certainly never expected such an acquaintance to form. How is Morag while I remember? Good I hope.

note to Mandy

March 8th, 2006 (02:20 am)

Mandy,

The recent attacks on students are getting rather odd. Though I doubt it comes from your part of the school any rumours as to who it could be? The atmosphere in the dungeons at the moment is distinctly involved in social affairs to the extent of the future married couple as well as other rather mopey looking rejected 6th and 7th year students. It gets quite depressing.

Owl back won't you? I am at my wits end for entertainment and with my project partner departing from school I'm rather overwhelmed in mandatory projects now as well as personal ones. I need a little levity.
